Today, 14 July 2021, a sitting of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Humanitarian and Information Policy was held, during which the issue of the
Ukrainian Cultural Foundation’s functioning was considered. During the meeting, the Foundation Executive Director Vladyslav Berkovskii presented the UCF’s results for the period 2017–2021 (half a year), as well as reported on the current state of implementing work plans and phasing the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation’s Strategy for 2022–2030. In turn, the deputies stressed the importance of continuing to support cultural projects in the regions which would particularly contribute to the development of regional tourism in Ukraine.
Among other things, the members of the Supervisory Board of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation also discussed challenges related to the record number of applications for UCF grants and the projects supported this year. Following the Committee’s meeting, the parties agreed to involve people’s deputies in the Foundation Strategy development to jointly balance state support and development of cultural centres both in large cities and in the most remote corners of the country.
