Vladyslav Berkovsky, executive director of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, and Maksym Yarmysty, acting head of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, reported this during the presentation of the updated grant program "Cultural Heritage" for 2023 at the press center of the UKRINFORM agency.

"Already more than 30 years, the Ukrainian people have been fighting, in particular, against the powerful information aggression waged by the Russian Federation. They started their information terrorism with renewed strength on February 24, the day of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Therefore, in order to support researchers in the field of historical and cultural heritage who fight against Russian cultural expansion and the myths of enemy propaganda, to break down cultural stereotypes, and to explore the topics that Russians are speculating on to justify this war, together with the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, we have developed a new LOT "Research of the historical and cultural heritage of Ukraine", applications for which can be submitted from January 16", - said UCF Executive Director Vladyslav Berkovski.

"Russia actively exploits historical narratives in its propaganda. Therefore the task is to strengthen the immunity of Ukrainian society, and ideally, to form immunity in the societies of other countries against the propaganda narratives of a hostile state based on historical fakes and speculations around the complex pages of the past, is so important. Ukrainian society needs to understand the historical foundations of the current phenomena, to distinguish between fake information that Russia constantly spreads in one form or another in the information space. This is important both in the conditions of war and in the post-war reality", - added Maksym Jarmystyi, acting head of the UINP, and thanked the partners from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation for their joint efforts in this direction.

The maximum grant amount available for the research is UAH 800 thousand. The application deadline is February 28, 2023.
