The Ukrainian Cultural Foundation continues to find support and different opportunities for Ukrainian artists to develop Ukrainian culture under martial law. That is why the UCF works together with Artists at Risk Connection (ARC), project of PEN America to support cultural figures in the visual arts sector.

If you are in Ukraine and try to restart your cultural activities and need help, fill in the request for funding through the Cultural Space platform.

After submission of the request and its technical verification, you will get instructions from UCF and ARC regarding further actions via e-mail indicated in the Google Form. Funding requests submitted through the Cultural Space platform will be evaluated by ARC in priority order.

The Google Form for filing is available by the link. Prospective fellows will be selected by the 20th of each month until the end of the program on which they will be notified in email.

The Cultural Space - is information platform of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation,  aimed at collecting information from Ukrainian cultural artists and institutions who have found themselves in a difficult financial situation due to the war and need assistance, both to resume their activities and to implement projects that emphasize the cultural value of Ukrainian identity during martial law and after the victory of Ukraine.

PEN America’s Artists at Risk Connection (ARC) safeguards the right to artistic freedom of expression around the world and works to ensure that artists of all disciplines and cultural professionals everywhere can live and work without fear. ARC plays the critical role of liaising between threatened artists and the 800+ organizations in our global network that support them. ARC raises awareness around threats to artistic freedom and mobilizes arts and cultural institutions to play a more prominent role in assisting their field’s most vulnerable members. Since its inception, ARC has supported more than 500 artists from over 71 countries in receiving direct support, including residencies, emergency funding, legal assistance, and advocacy, from partner organizations. To respond to the growing needs of artists in conflict zones, ARC has established a grantmaking initiative for at-risk visual artists from Ukraine, including an emergency fund for basic living expenses as well as a resilience grant to help artists sustain their creative practices. If you or someone you know is an artist at risk, contact ARC. To learn more about our grants, click here
